Regular release 4/5.
Action.
Just another WordPress site
Regular release 3/5.
Oh, I really hate translating this chapter. I’m pretty irked by the nationalism and stereotype found in this arc. There’s more of those coming up and the author did try to balance it. Still, I tried to convince myself that it’s not that bad to the point of dropping this.
But for this chapter, what I can get from it was the author was thinking. Hey, I know all these interesting trivia about ancient China and the civilizations and should just info dumped everything to you. It’s not easy looking up all this stuff and get the right name to translate.
Frankly, I feel that this chapter has no purpose (foreshadowing for the future, idk). But the only useful part that pushed things around was that last paragraph. You can skip it and not miss anything. Seriously.
Regular release 2/5.
This month workload seemed heavier than I’d expected. I’ll have to entertain a number of guests from the US in the upcoming weeks, being penciled into meeting with them.
Regular release 1/5.
This chapter was longer, about double the average length.
It’s the start of a new arc.
And I’d just paid someone to look into the backend of the site. The Chrome issue appeared because there’s a clash between 3 parts – my Analytics plugin, my cache plugin that makes the site faster and the Chrome browser which had Adblock on. The combination of these 3 makes the Adblock stopped any incoming link when clicked.
He uninstalled and reinstalled and said that the issue was fixed. Otherwise, I should disable one of my analytics or cache plugins. Clear your Chrome cache, and if the problem still persist, let me know. I know the person well, I’ll get a refund.
Bonus release #2.
There’s actually an IP address from Canada who managed to check out the new chapters 2 days in a row right after I’d published the chapters but before I wrote the announcement for them. I wondered how that person got hold of the timing. I’m really curious.
Was it due to luck, or was there some tracking system?
Bonus/regular release #1.
Since I’d been continuing the trend of daily release. Today’s chapter was supposed to be earlier but my friend called me out for a drink after work. So,….
Also, if you’re observant, you’ll noticed that there’s a some progress in the sponsor bar. Surprisingly, it’s an exhilarating feeling to saw the notification email. Thanks for the support so far. I wanted to highlight this yesterday, but I forgot in the rush to get things out.
Regular release 5/5
It’s not my intention to release it this late, but because I only left the office at 12am.
I’m working on Saturday as well, so the bonus release won’t be early.
Work is starting to pour in, with tax season, audit, earning release, quarter close etc…
Oh, I forgot. This site crossed the 100k pagehit moment after I published chapter 29 yesterday. I want to make a celebration out of it, but I’ll take a rain check and push till 3 weeks later for the work to die down a bit.
Regular release 4/5.
I was a bit late today in my posting today. The reason behind it was because I was taking a nap.
Today was a day of goodbyes. A few colleagues had their last day in the office today. And one of them was my very first manager when I started working, who’d gone on and took on higher level of office. If it’s the rookies, I could still understand, but these are all seasoned high leveled managers. A lot of people are unwilling to let go of their career once they reached a certain level in the company. And I thought they will be lifer. I’m just unhappy with the thought that I won’t be seeing them in the office anymore, though their departure had long been announced.
Chapter 029
Regular release 3/5.
Regular release 2/5.
Busy day at work, but I was shocked when I came back and saw the site’s stats. Easily surpassed the prior best day by far.
Thank you to the one who created the link to the site from reddit, who’s totally not me at all. Seriously, I don’t even know how to post to reddit yet. Wow, there’s a lot of traffic from reddit. It can surpass NU’s traffic at this rate. If you’re new here. Welcome.
So, a little community announcement, if you had adblocker on, please disable it, or whitelist this site. It’s not because this site has any ads, but rather certain combination of add-on + Chrome is interfering with the site’s navigation. So, it’s blocking any data coming from that link when you clicked it.
It’s probably like. Hey, there’s an internal link here. Looks suspicious. It’s probably an ad. Let’s block it.
I tried a lot of ways to optimize the site for faster delivery. The one major thing I didn’t do left was to opt for a CDN cause I’m not feeling it now – too cheap to fork out any more money. It’s like putting up mirror sites up across the globe so that there’s less distance to get the information from the site. Currently, the server is in North America. So, it’s faster for the US peps. Maybe less for others.
